I work at the Newport Health Equity Zone, an innovative, resident-driven project to decrease health disparities in Newport. We are also the Prevention Department of the Women's Resource Center of Newport & Bristol County, because this approach to community health is linked to reducing intimate partner violence. The WRC is among a small cohort of organizations nationally who are engaging in health-equity work as a domestic-violence prevention strategy.
